At the 2012 IPCPR Convention in Orlando, FL, several of us had the honor to meet the legendary Mike Ditka at the Davidoff booth. The Coach and Camacho have teamed-up to release a LIMITED EDITION cigar line named simply DITKA.
Camacho’s Mike Ditka brand of cigars launched on December 14, 2012 at Ditka’s restaurant in Chicago, with retailers in the Chicago area getting the cigars immediately after the release event and nationwide distribution to stores like Chesapeake Cigar beginning at the end of the year.
The Mike Ditka cigar series is comprised of three different front marks and blends: The Player, The Coach, and The Hall of Famer.
The Player is a medium-bodied cigar that uses a Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Honduran binder and filler from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The Coach is also medium-bodied with a Honduran Criollo wrapper, Brazilian binder and filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The Hall of Famer is a full-bodied cigar that uses a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper, Honduran binder and filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
Each cigar is being made in four sizes:
- Robusto (5 x 50)
- Toro (6 x 50)
- Torpedo (6 1/4 x 42/54)
- 6 x 60
Each cigar comes in ten-count boxes and are packed in individual coffins. Production is limited to just 1000 of each box, with over half going to stores in the Chicago area. These will be rare treats to find in Maryland, but we have secured as many as we could to fill the needs of all our football fans here at Chesapeake Cigar!
